In 2001, Little League pitcher from New York, Danny Almonte was a man among boys as he often retired the side by striking out batter after batter. Despite his performance, the team only finished third.

After the tournament dust had settled, it was revealed that Danny was actually 14 years old, two years older than the maximum age limit at the time. Head coach, Rolando Paulino, was more than likely to blame although Almonte could have certainly spoken up.
