A lot of film classes discuss the great directors of cinema. But there always seems to be a group of directors that usually get left out – the female ones. Women directors have been around almost as long as male directors yet they get left out of the discussion, and this must change!
It is interesting to note that women directors had a boom in the early days of cinema, then there seems to be a lull in variety of women directors in the ’30s through the ’50s, which then picks up a little bit during the ’60s.
